I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I moved to Seattle in 2005 and I work full time as a night shift RN at a local hospital. Ever since kindergarten I've been told that I'm quite the chatty person and this trend continues today. Now, it's hard to find myself in a conversation that doesn't somehow at least brush the subject of all things related to food.

On my spare time you'll find me browsing cookbooks at the bookstore, shopping for produce, cheese, and seafood at the Pike Place Market, visiting boutique butchers while picking out choice local meats, and of course cooking, eating, and trying out new restaurants or sticking with old favorites.

Of course, there's more to life than just food. I'm happily married to my beautiful wife, Abbie. I have an energetic and active group of friends who I like to drink wine with, as well as travel, have games nights, play sports, explore the region, and paint the town from time to time. I enjoy running and biking all around Seattle. Living in the Northwest, it's hard not to love the outdoors and you'll often spot me at a city park or one of the region's hiking trails or national parks. I live in Seattle's Capitol Hill Neighborhood between 12th and 15th. Both Cal Anderson and Volunteer Park are just a short stroll away.

I started writing this blog at the end of 2010. It continues to evolve as I learn more about my own writing style, cooking, photography, and blogging.
